Managed Internet Service
(MIS)
AT&T
Managed Internet Service (MIS) is an Internet access service that
combines a high speed, dedicated connection, with consolidated
application management. Tex-an 2000 Managed Internet Service is
available to Political Subdivisions and Institutions of Higher
Education, both public and private. State of Texas Agencies
should contact DIR regarding ISP services.
Highlights of the
Tex-an MIS Contract:

Service options include Flat Rate, Tiered, Flexible Bandwidth
Billing Option, Burstable T-1 through Burstable OC-48, and Ethernet.

Network Access can be established via Private Line, Frame Relay, ATM,
or Ethernet
-
Available with or without Managed Router

Signed End User Service Agreement is required. Please see your
AT&T Account Representative for additional information.

Participating End Users will place orders for ISP Services through
DIR, using a Purchase Order issued to DIR and the End User
Service Agreement

MIS:
For customers who prefer to manage elements of their
IP service in-house and retain control of the premises equipment, we
offer MIS without the Managed Router.
MIS with Managed Router: Provides managed "end to end"
connectivity to the Internet for customers who prefer complete
vendor provided solutions; router vendor is CISCO
MIS with Managed Router Option 2: Provides managed "end
to end" connectivity to the Internet for customers who prefer
complete vendor provided solutions: router vendor is 3-COM
